A Guide to the SLL Lighting Handbook

The Society of Light & Lighting (SLL) published a revised edition of the SLL Lighting Handbook in 2018 – having made significant changes to its content. Our CIBSE Approved CPD aims to introduce you to the SLL Lighting Handbook. Our learning outcomes will reflect the basic structure of the Handbook; this includes some detail of some of the topics in its three main sections, a look at some applications and key lighting points for each. We conclude the presentation with a look at one or two of the Appendices and key information within.

Our CPD also contains a series of useful insights from a video interview with Iain Macrae who is a Fellow of the Society of Light Lighting, Past President of the Society and a Chartered Engineer. Iain was one of the contributing authors of the SLL Handbook – and his insights and inputs, alongside our own summary of the main changes, will be both useful and valuable to anyone concerned with lighting specification.
